From humble beginnings in 1963, McElroy Metal has grown into a national company with 14 manufacturing facilities, 29 Service Centers, and 44 Metal Mart locations across the United States.
We believe that business morals and ethics still have a place in the work environment. We continue to conduct business under the golden rule: Customers deserve to be treated in the same way we like to be treated by our suppliers. Some may say that makes us old-fashioned. We think they are right!
After three generations of family ownership, McElroy transitioned to an employee-owned company in 2022. Ian McElroy, who continues to serve as the President of McElroy Metal, shared the reason for the change, "The one constant trait during our 60-year history is the influence and support of employees. Throughout the country, McElroy Metal is blessed to have loyal team members, including many that have dedicated decades of service to the company. As a show of appreciation, McElroy Metal team members are now employee owners of McElroy Metal.”
Mission Statement: Guided by our Core Values, McElroy Metal strives to be an industry leader who provides high-quality products and services while developing meaningful relationships with employee-owners, customers and suppliers.
McElroy Metal’s executive team is a testament to loyalty and experience. The team has 6 members with over 2 decades of service to McElroy Metal.
In 1970, Tem McElroy returned to Shreveport, LA to join the company his father founded. In 1975, Tem became president of McElroy Metal and soon started to implement his plan to turn the company into national entity.
