Requirements for R-Panel Walls and Roofs
To ensure performance across varying applications, McElroy Metal's R-Panel has been thoroughly tested. R-panel wall and roof panels feature a Class A fire rating under UL 790 (ASTM E108 and NFPA 256) procedures. Other R-Panel testing and classifications includes UL 580 Class 90 Uplift testing, ASTM E1680 air infiltration, ASTM E1646 water infiltration, and UL2218 Class 4 impact resistance.
R-Panel also has Florida State Approval 1747.9 and 1832.11, Miami Dade Approval (PBR only) and Texas Department of Insurance Approval RC-284 (PBR only).
Installation of R-panel roofs requires a minimum slope of 1:12 and butyl sealant should be utilized in the laps.
A Variety of Options
Because R-Panel is very versatile and utilized on a wide variety of applications, it is available in many options. R-Panel is available with and without purlin bearing legs (PBR). Typically, PBR panels are utilized on roof applications because roofers appreciate the extra support when installing the panels to the roof substrate, or deck. Non PBR panels are more common for wall applications. Building owners can select R-Panel in wide range of Kynar 500® colors, or silicone-modified polyester coatings. R-Panel's most popular steel substrate is 26 GA Galvalume®. Or select optional 22- or 24-gauge Galvalume® panels.
Factory Applied Anti-Condensation Membrane
R Panel roof panels with McElroy's MoistureLok, offer a great option to address condensation challenges. The design of our MoistureLok product traps moisture and then releases it back into the air as natural humidity once conditions go back below the dew point.
